  The study produces new scientific evidence about the contribution of work and other areas of life to health, functioning, and well-being. The evidence can be used in efforts to maintain and improve health and functioning also after transition to retirement. A special focus is in studying social inequalities in health and well-being.

  Employed by the City of Helsinki at baseline (year 2000 for an older cohort, aged 40, 45, 50, 55 or 60 years, and year 2017 for a younger cohort, aged less than 40 years)

  Not empoyed by the City of Helsinki at baseline, moved abroad during the follow-up
